Program Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Nepal.

When you arrive at Tibhuvan International Airport, our guide will pick you up and take you to your hotel in the bustling Thamel district of Kathmandu. Depending on your arrival time, you can choose to relax for the next journey, see the city's attractions, or shop for adventure gear in one of Kathmandu's many adventure supply stores. We'll assemble our bikes and be ready for the journey in the afternoon.

Day 2 - Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour.

You will be driven to the old city of Bhaktapur after a quick breakfast at the hotel. Your guide will show you around the city and take you to the important religious squares that are on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Upon completing the city tour, lunch will be provided, and a short 2-hour bike ride will follow.

On the trails, which will be hilly, you will see paddy fields and the quiet forest of Phulchowki. You will finish in Godawari which is well known for its botanical gardens, rich wildlife and evergreen forests, giving you a real sense of tranquility.

Day 3 - Godwari to Dakshinkali.

After breakfast, the tour continues on a jeep track through the Chapagaon village, where you can see beautiful views of the Kathmandu Valley below.

From Chapagaon, you will go south, cross the Lele River, and head toward the village of Bungamati. After you cross a suspension bridge over the Bagmati river, you'll come to a Ganesh Temple, also called a "Elephant God Temple." From here, the sealed Dakshinkali road connects some interesting cultural sites. The rest of the ride is mostly uphill, but it's not too steep!

Day 4 - Dakshinkali to Daman.

After a healthy breakfast, you'll ride your bikes through a Tamang village and along a gravel road to Kulekhani. Along the way, you can see how real Nepalese people live and visit Kulkehani Dam, which is the largest hydroelectric dam and man-made lake in Nepal.

From here, you'll keep going and climb for about 2 hours to get to Daman, which is 2400m above sea level and where you'll stay for the night. Those who don't want to climb will be able to use the support vehicle!!

Day 5 - Daman to Hetauda.

We might have the best views of the whole trip today. You will be able to see an amazing 400-kilometer-long view of the Himalayas, from the Annapurnas to Mt. Everest. There are also great views of the low plains of Nepal, called the Terai, and India in the distance.

You'll enjoy the ultimate downhill ride with over 2000m of descent through pine and rhododendron forests, which give way to semi-tropical vegetation as the air gets more humid. Small groups of houses cling to the tops of lonely hills, but as you get closer to the Terai, you will see more and more villages.

At the bottom of the descent is the town of Hetauda, which is 455m above sea level. It will be a great way to end the day of cycling.

Day 6 - Hetauda to Chitwan.

Compared to the last two days, Day 6 is a much flatter ride. You are now in the middle of Terai, which is a hot subtropical plain with plants that reflect this. The path takes a turn onto a dirt road that leads to the edge of Chitwan National Park at Saurahaand, where you'll stay at a hotel in the park.

Chitwan National Park is Nepal's largest and most well-known wild area. It is a pristine place with a unique ecosystem. It has more than 43 kinds of mammals, but the one-horned rhinoceros and Bengal tigers are especially well-known. There are also 450 kinds of birds and 45 kinds of amphibians and reptiles that live there.

Day 7 - Chitwan Rest Day.

We offer a variety of activities in Chitwan that aren't part of the tour price, but you don't have to do them if you want a day off. Canoeing is a trip down the river Rapti in a traditional "dug-out canoe" and a chance to watch exotic birds and animals that come to the water's edge to drink.

Guided walks or drives through the jungle: With the help of an experienced naturalist, you can walk or drive deep into the jungle to look for rare animals.

Bird watching: An early morning walk through the bush and along the Rapti River with an expert guide to see some of the 450 species of exotic birds, like the Giant Hornbill, Lesser Florican, and Paradise Flycatcher.

Day 8 - Chitwan to Butwal and transfer to Lumbini.

After a slow breakfast, you'll start the day by riding your bikes to the Tikauli forest via the Bishajari Lake. After this, you'll keep going on the Mehendra Highway. After 72 km, you'll stop for lunch at Dawene.

Again, your support vehicle will be there if anyone needs a break from riding. Those who feel really good can keep riding for another 45 km to Butwal, where everyone will get on the vehicles for the ride to Lumbini.

Lumbini is known as the place where the Lord Buddha was born. It is important to Hindus and Buddhists all over the world for religious reasons.

Day 9 - Transfer to Butwal and ride to Tansen.

You will get to see Lumbini and the Buddha gardens in the morning. After that, you will drive back to Butwal. The drive will take you through the countryside of Nepal, giving you a look at how people live in the villages of the Terai lowlands.

After lunch, you'll get back on your bikes and ride to Tansen, an old Newari city known for its traditional architecture and wide views of the Himalayas.

Day 10 - Tansen to Gaylang and transfer to Pokhara.

The day will start with a thrilling ride down a winding road to the Siddartha Highway, then a gentle climb up to Galyang and a 2-hour drive to Pokhara, a tourist town on a lake.

When you get to Pokhara, you'll check into your hotel. This will give you plenty of time in the evening to get some fresh air and look around the town.

Day 11 - Free day in Pokhara for Relaxation.

There are many things to do in Pokhara. From a relaxing row across the Phewa Tal lake to an exciting 30-minute paragliding flight from the famous Sarankot view point.

Day 12 - Travel back to Kathmandu.

After breakfast, we take a short flight back to Kathmandu. After arrival in Kathmandu, hotel transfer and you'll have time to look for souvenirs or visit some of the city's temples and other interesting places.

Day 13 - Departure from Nepal.

Today we will take you to the airport to catch your flight out of Nepal. Alternatively, if you'd like to stay longer, we may make additional travel arrangements to assist you continue your cycling experience.

"Thank you for an amazing time"

The entire excursion was incredible. So well-organized, and the rides were both difficult and gorgeous. The entire crew was incredibly helpful and cordial. I do not believe that the high standards provided could be improved, and I will look no farther than the Cycling in Nepal team for future visits. Thank you for an amazing time!!

"My greatest trips of all time"

This was one of my greatest trips of all time. The cycling was difficult and the view was lovely. The team was usually incredibly pleasant, considerate, and entertaining. After the last ride, I informed them I would leave my usual life and join them. I literally cannot wait to sign up for my next Nepal cycling adventure.
