Program Itinerary

Day 1 - Arrival in Nepal.

When you arrive at Tibhuvan International Airport, our guide will pick you up and take you to your hotel in the bustling Thamel district of Kathmandu. Depending on your arrival time, you can choose to relax for the next journey, see the city's attractions, or shop for adventure gear in one of Kathmandu's many adventure supply stores. We'll assemble our bikes and be ready for the journey in the afternoon.

Day 2 - Travel to Pokhara.

You will be taken to the domestic airport in Kathmandu after breakfast to catch the 25-minute flight to the lakeside town of Pokhara. OR else, you can be picked up from your accommodation for the about 8-hour bus transfer. When making the reservation, this choice will be selected.

You will check into your hotel as soon as you arrive in Pokhara, giving you plenty of time in the afternoon and evening to go around and discover the city.

Day 3 - Fly to Jomsom and Mountain Biking to Kagbeni.

After a healthy breakfast in the morning, you'll take a short ride to the Pokhara airport to catch a 20-minute flight over beautiful scenery to Jomsom. The flight takes you over the Pokhara valley and deep into the Himalayas. This is where you can get your first real look at the huge Himalayan mountain ranges, including the amazing views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna. Please remember that these flights depend on the weather and can be delayed or canceled at the last minute. When you get to Jomsom, you'll have time to put on your gear and have a hot drink before the next ride. The 14 km of easy riding will be mostly flat so that your body can get used to the change in altitude. The beautiful Tibetan village of Kagbeni will be where we stay for the night.

Day 4 - Mountain Biking to Mukatinath.

When you leave Kagbeni, you will ride uphill to Muktinath, which is 3900m above sea level.

The trail continues by climbing up the north side of the gorge and onto a dusty jeep track that leads through the village of Jhong to the powerful Thorong La Pass. In Jhong, you can take a break to catch your breath while you look around the old monastery. After that, you can have lunch in the sun while looking at the beautiful mountains.

The last part will be short after lunch, and you should get to Muktinath around mid-afternoon. You can use this time to explore the village with your guide and see things like monasteries and temples, or you can just rest.

Day 5 - Mountain Biking to Marpha.

Today it will require an early breakfast and start because the winds in the valley start to pick up around 11am. They can make the ride a lot harder. The first part of the day is a slow climb up to Lupra Pass, where you can see amazing views of Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna ranges.

Once you reach the top of the pass, you'll ride quickly downhill until you reach the river valley. From there, you'll ride flat for 6 km until you reach Jomsom.

After lunch in Jomsom, the path follows the river and goes up and down until it reaches Marpha. There are other beautiful, fun, and technical single-track options for more experienced and skilled riders.

Marpha is known for growing apples and making brandy and cider from them, so be sure to try some of the local food in the evening.

Day 6 - Mountain Biking to Tatopani.

Most of the way from Marpha to Tatopani is downhill. The trail starts out easy and flat through pine forests and small villages. You'll follow the river and, on a clear day, see beautiful views of the snow-capped peaks. The waterfalls at Rukse Chaahara will be the place where lunch will be served.

After lunch, you'll keep going fast downhill on a rough jeep track until you reach Tatopani. Tatopani is a village with streets made of cobblestones. It is known for its relaxing hot springs, where you can soak your tired muscles.

Day 7 - Mountain bike Tatopani to Beni onwards to Pokhara.

The last guided ride will be on Day 7. Most of the jeep tracks will be flat, but there will be a few "Nepali flat" sections that go up and down to remind you that you are still in the Himalayas. The last stop is Beni, where the guides will load up your bikes and take you back to Pokhara by jeep for a well-deserved rest and maybe a beer or two.

If you want to keep going to Pokhara by bike instead of taking the bumpy jeep ride, you can ride from Tatopani all the way to Pokhara, which is an extra 77km of riding.

Day 8 - Travel back to Kathmandu.

Take a morning nap or explore Pokhara's highlights. This relaxed city, which is full of local culture like temples and small coffee shops, restaurants, and boutiques, is a haven for hikers. We'll take a quick flight back to Kathmandu in the middle of the afternoon. We'll have time to unwind over one last cup of chai in Kathmandu or finish off our souvenir shopping before gathering for a farewell meal.

Day 9 - Departure from Nepal.

Today we will take you to the airport to catch your flight out of Nepal. Alternatively, if you'd like to stay longer, we may make additional travel arrangements to assist you continue your cycling experience.
